The entire Shandong Hotel complex is comprised of three parts which include the Guestroom Building, the Conference Center, and the Great Hall of Shandong.

The main building of Shandong Hotel was designed by the world-famous Atlanta-based John Portman & Associates Inc. and the internal design was made by Australia-based Woodhead International. Six sightseeing elevators in the lobby shuttling upward and downward around-the-clock give you the feeling of flying up through the air. The 5th floor over the back lobby constitute a symmetric 八-shaped overhead bridge, on which the guests would feel as if they are walking in the sky.
