As well as providing 24-hour Accident and Emergency services, the Hospital is also supported by the Li Ka Shing Specialist Clinics for specialty outpatient services. A midwifery school is also attached to the Hospital. The Hospital networks with Cheshire Home (Shatin), Bradbury Hospice, Shatin Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, Tai Po Hospital and North District Hospital.

The Sir Yue Kong Pao Centre for Cancer and the Lady Pao Children's Cancer Centre were officially opened in November 1994 to deliver state-of-the art cancer treatment and to pool and integrate the resources for cancer research and education.

The Jockey Club Trauma & Emergency Centre was officially open in March 2002 to provide integrated emergency care to patients suffering from traumatic injuries and critical illness.
