Description

The focus of the annual European Wireless (EW) conference is research and development related to the current and next generation of wireless and mobile networks. It was first set up in 1998 as a European conference, and very quickly grew to international fame as testified by the many different nations of the authors of the papers included in the technical programs of the previous editions.

The 16th European Wireless Conference will take place in Lucca, heart of Tuscany, Italy, from April 12 to April 15, 2010 and will be hosted by the IMT Institute for Advanced Studies(http://www.imtlucca.it/), a post-graduate school recently founded in Lucca, which awards PhD degrees to a restricted group of outstanding students from all over the world.

The 2010 edition of the conference will revolve around a main theme:"Towards the Future Internet". One of the key objectives of research in wireless communication, and notably the main one of 4th-generation cellular/mobile networks, is full integration of wireless segments into the all-IP pervasive and ubiquitous network of the future, regardless of the nature (wired or wireless) of the physical media.

The conference will feature four half-day tutorials on April 12th and four oral sessions per day (two in the morning and two in the afternoon) on April 13-15. Presented papers will be included in the IEEExplore database. There will also be a Poster Session each day, with a specific period just after lunchtime. Each conference day (excluding the workshops day) will also feature a keynote speech
